Kurdish Traditional Costumes
What I loved
Digital preservation of cultural heritage, rendered in 3D.
The work
A digital preservation of cultural heritage through detailed 3D renderings of traditional Kurdish costume.
Kawa u Pantol: A classic Kurdish outfit, typically worn by men, featuring a fitted jacket (Kawa) and baggy trousers (Pantol). This style is widely recognized and worn in various forms across Kurdistan.
Srkeyi: A beautifully patterned Kurdish scarf, often worn as an accessory, adding a touch of elegance to the overall attire. The "Srkeyi" is a symbol of Kurdish identity and is worn by both men and women in different styles and for various occasions.
Xaki Posh: Traditional Kurdish attire often associated with Peshmerga fighters, characterized by its practicality and durability. The term "Xaki Posh" translates to "khaki attire," reflecting the clothing's color and its historical use in combat situations.
These digital renditions demonstrate the beauty and complexity of Kurdish traditional clothing.
The characters were built in Character Creator 4. The garments were drafted in Marvelous Designer, fitted to each character, then textured in Adobe Substance Painter. Everything was exported to Blender for lighting and decals.
