The work
Tinyoush is a nail artist's brand from Sulaymaniyah: a studio, a line of press-on nails and a professional kit.
The identity sits where two stories meet. Babylon was dug out of the ground and rebuilt in Berlin in the Art Deco years, and Tinyoush takes its lines from both. At its centre is the Shahmaran: four heads in one knot. Around her runs a field of scales that is a Deco fan, an Assyrian band and her tail at once.
Black, oxblood, gold and white. A tall Deco serif with Kurdish letters drawn to match, in three weights. The same rules carry from the logo to the cards, the folio of nails, the five numbered bottles and the Ritual set, down to the parcel: black tissue, a gold sticker and a note sealed in oxblood wax.
A coin is an heirloom: worn, inherited, one at a time. Six so far, all from where Kurds lived between 1876 and 2000. Worn together, they become a bodice.
Every product was made and shot in 3D, in one place: misty water, wet stone and fallen leaves, lit like a still from a film.
